Investor and “Shark Tank” judge Barbara Corcoran has high praise for Kevin Hart.
Hart made an appearance as a guest judge on the show during its 13th season alongside Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, Kevin O’Leary, Lori Greiner and others. The purpose of “Shark Tank” is to provide a platform for entrepreneurs across industries to pitch in front of powerhouse investors with hopes of securing their investment.
Speaking of the importance of appearing on the show, Hart said, according to ABC Audio, “If I can reach back and give opportunities to others, to people of my community, to the younger generation that is coming up that should be our future leaders of tomorrow and our future groundbreakers of today and tomorrow, why not? I’m not in the business of just doing it for me. You know, I think that’s the role that we all play when we get to sit in these chairs, is the role of opportunity for not just ourselves but others.”

Hart’s expertise in entertainment and business has made him an ideal candidate for the show. For one, he is the co-founder of the tequila brand Gran Coramino. When it launched on the market in 2022, it achieved the second-fastest sales growth for an emerging premium tequila company in the past 20 years, and it was within the top 5% of sales in the overall tequila category, according to Fortune.
Hart had also stepped foot into the plant-based industry with Hart House, but the restaurant venture abruptly closed in September 2024. In the meantime, he has made significant strides through his media company HARTBEAT, which is the byproduct of a merger of his two companies Laugh Out Loud and HartBeat Productions. Boardroom reports HARTBEAT is now valued at over $650 million.
“I’m no longer just a comedian. I’m an investment. I’m a student,” Hart said recently during an interview on “60 Minutes.”
Hart is also a serial investor, with 24 companies in his portfolio, which include Alice, Function Health, and HUNGRY, data from PitchBook reflects.
Hart’s moves have positioned him to amass a reported net worth of $450 million. It’s no surprise that Corcoran praised Hart’s acumen while speaking on the “SHERRI” talk show, hosted by Sherri Shepherd.
“You cannot believe Kevin Hart. He blew us all away,” she expressed while speaking to Shepherd. “He was smarter than all the ‘Sharks’ put together. He came on the set, we expected comedy because we all love him as a comic, yeah but he’s a genius. He was like a walking computer, he did numbers faster than Mark Cuban, he negotiated like he had been doing it his whole life. He blew us away. In fact, he was so good we just stopped and stared at him. We forgot we were ‘Sharks.'”
Corcoran added, “He’s a genius, don’t underestimate this man. I have never met a smarter businessman.”
