This high school senior is raising the bar!
Jeremiah Daniels, IV can celebrate becoming the first African American male salutatorian at Boca Ciega High School, FOX 13 News reports.
“I’m just glad for the opportunity to be able to create Black history and be a part of something bigger,” Jeremiah said.
He Spoke It Into Existence
His mother, Brittney Daniels, reveals the Florida teen already spoke the moment into existence years ago.
“He told his father and I four years ago that he wanted to be the salutatorian and we knew that he could achieve, it in the end. For him to work at it, year after year, straight As, since third grade,” Daniels said, according to FOX 13 News.
As a kindergartener, Jeremiah already showed signs of promise. In fact, the budding child taught himself to use a laptop and various programs. However, he admits he couldn’t do it alone by crediting his teachers for stirring his interest in learning.
“I would say the teachers, for sure, that definitely challenged me on the challenges itself, like learning something new and being able to say, ‘I can understand it,’ and actually being able to use it and apply it to different situations,” Jeremy told the outlet.
He Will Attend Florida State University
As Jeremiah looks ahead, his next chapter will lead him to Florida State University. The gifted teen will begin this fall and has chosen to major in computer engineering.
Jeremiah hopes to remind other teens to persevere even in the midst of storms so they too can create their own success stories.
“Don’t let obstacles stop being a way and just continue to grow and push through,” said Jeremiah, according to FOX 13 News.
