“We are blessed to announce that ‘ZTP’ The Label is official,” wrote Zaytoven in a post accompanied by images of him and his new business partner. “Me and @therealbigtrill are officially a label. We are signing artists, producers, songwriters, DJs, all brands. We are looking for a real team. A solid team. Searching for all talent in every city, every state, every town! Let’s get to work.”
His Love For Music
As previously reported by AfroTech, Zaytoven discovered his love for music at an early age, first starting in the house of the Lord serving as an organist at Life Abundantly Church located in Conyers, GA.
During AfroTech Conference 2022, in Austin, TX, the legendary producer admitted that he still plays at his church from time to time.
Despite the fact that he wasn’t able to listen to rap growing up, he managed to sneak in enough songs to ultimately discover that he not only had a passion for music but dreams of producing it.
A Money-Makin' Mindset
Along with his love for music, the 42-year-old entertainer has also always had a business mindset.
Before he was producing hits like Usher’s “Papers” or Migos’ “Versace,” Zaytoven worked as a barber at an Atlanta shop, which he still co-owns today.
“My check from Usher was like $101,000. My parents ain’t even seen that much money together. You know, I ain’t even seen that much money at one time before, but I’m still at the barbershop,” he said during a previous interview with HotNewHipHop. “I’m still at the barbershop because I still feel like ‘Man, that’s a blessing, that’s crazy I got that, but I know it’s over after this. I know I’mma fall off after this.’ That was my mindset. My mindset was like, I’m still gon’ keep cutting hair ‘cause, what if this don’t work out? I can’t really base my life on this right here.”
While Zaytoven didn’t disclose everything on the horizon for ZTP, it looks like they aim to take things to the next level with various creatives in the future.
